ME,TOXIC?
ME, TOXIC? — by Justice Plant
ME, TOXIC? is a psychological loop disguised as an EP about his last relationship.
Across the EP, Justice moves through lust, manipulation, attachment, ego, control, resentment, dependency, and emotional withdrawal, never presenting himself as innocent, but never pretending the damage was one-sided either. Every song feels like another phase of the same cycle: break apart, reconnect, hurt each other, repeat.
The project lives in the gray area where love and possession start blending together. Arguments turn into intimacy. Distance turns into obsession. Power constantly shifts hands. Some moments feel passionate, others feel calculated, but all of them are tied together by the inability to fully let go.
What makes ME, TOXIC? different is the self-awareness. Justice isn’t just pointing fingers at the women involved, he’s documenting how toxicity transfers. How being manipulated can make you manipulative. How emotional survival can slowly turn into emotional control. By the end, the question in the title stops sounding rhetorical.
The project is structured almost like a movie you can listen to. Voicemails and transitional moments guide the story forward, while each track bleeds seamlessly into the next, making the experience feel continuous instead of separated into isolated songs. Every conversation, argument, memory, and relapse feels connected, like the sound track to one long memory playing back in real time.
The visual world of the project reinforces that feeling. The Polaroids, dim lighting, scattered objects, isolated poses, and intimate framing make everything feel like memories you weren’t supposed to see. Nothing looks polished emotionally. It feels lived in, replayed, and difficult to throw away.
Even the structure of the project mirrors the theme: recurring conversations, recurring behaviors, recurring people. Different settings, time passing, same emotional gravity.
This isn’t a love story.
It’s documentation of what happens when two people keep choosing each other long after they probably shouldn’t, and the version of yourself that gets created in the process.
